Message Distribution
Distribution updated
What It Does
Team settings let you add the people who handle messages in your business to the panel and decide what each of them can do. With message distribution, new conversations are shared across the team automatically.
Roles:
- Super admin: access to all settings.
- Manager: handles day-to-day management and setup settings.
- Team member: answers conversations; if distribution is on, sees the conversations assigned to them.
Setup
- Open Settings › Team in the panel.
- Enter an e-mail address in the add-a-teammate field and click Add.
- The invitee accepts: from their Notifications if they already have an account, otherwise from the link in the e-mail.
- Choose the person's role in the list.
- On the Message Distribution card, choose Off, round robin or assign to specific members.
Invitations not yet accepted appear under pending invitations, where you can cancel them.
How It Works
With distribution on, each new conversation is assigned to a team member according to your rule, and that person is notified. Team members work with the Assigned to me and Unassigned filters in the Inbox; they can take a conversation with I'll take it and hand it back with Release.
Limits and Things to Know
- Only people with the Team member role enter the distribution.
- Team members can't connect accounts, buy plans or handle billing.
- Team members sign in with e-mail and password, and every sign-in is verified with a code sent to their e-mail. See Account and sign-in.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What if the person I invite doesn't have a Kolay DM account?
- They receive an invitation link by e-mail, set a password and join the panel.
- Can team members handle payments or connect accounts?
- No. Connecting accounts, buying plans and billing are available only to the account owner.
- Are old conversations distributed when I turn distribution on?
- No. Distribution only affects new conversations that arrive after it is turned on.
