What It Does
Contact categories mark which service or product each person is interested in — for example "Hair Services", "Skin Care", "Make-up" at a beauty salon. That way you see how much demand each topic gets and can target your offers at the right people.
Setup
- Open the contact categories page under Setup.
- Turn the categories on. A draft that fits your sector is loaded.
- On the categories tab, add main categories and subcategories to match your business. Hide the ones you don't use by retiring them.
- To place existing contacts into categories, run Categorise with AI.
- On the report tab, see how many people are in each category and jump to the list.
How It Works
Categories appear on the contact card and in the Contacts list, and can be used as filters. The statuses tab on the same page lets you edit contact statuses. See Contacts and statuses.
Limits and Things to Know
- Categorise with AI processes up to 30 people per run.
- You can always change an assignment made by AI from the contact card.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I have to assign categories by hand?
- No. Categorise with AI reads the conversations and places contacts in the right category. You can also run it for a single person.
- If I turn the module off, are categories deleted?
- No. Turning it off deletes nothing; when you turn it back on, categories and assignments are still there.
- Who can edit categories?
- Only people with the Super admin role can turn the module on and edit categories.
